trick or tease

Happy Halloween! Can you guess what we are today? Here's a hint: as identical twin 3-1/2-year-old boys, we often fight like ________.

Relax Aunt Moosaw, many more pics to come soon :-)

it's all relative

Last weekend we had some very special guests over for dinner. As you can see, Aunt Katherine was one of them. Yippee! She was in from North Carolina to meet someone very little and very special...someone conspicuously absent from this photo. Where could that someone be? And more importantly, why were we rocking and staring at an empty car seat?

Ah! There she is. Note that our new cousin is already wondering what she's going to do with all these silly boys around.

Anyway, it was great to see you Aunt K.T. We can't wait for Thanksgiving!

less than a week left!

We are sooooo excited about Halloween this year. And since we've been obsessed lately with the spiders living around our house, we asked Mom and Dad if it would be okay if one more spider came to live with us for awhile. They agreed.

Here's Mom helping the new spider get situated on his web. I felt she wasn't moving fast enough, so I poked her with a stick while Zak looked on approvingly from above.

Ta-dah! We've got decorations, we've got nine tons of candy, we've got costumes. We are ready.

our first field trip

Last Wednesday, October 17, in the year 2007 A.D., at approximately 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, Zak and I went on our very first school field trip. And man oh man, our teachers did it up right. First we got to ride in a "Quality Recreation Opportunities in Our Community" van...and that wasn't even the best part! We traveled to one of the coolest places we could ever possibly imagine. We're talking heaven on earth.

We didn't sit together in the van (we often sit apart in class). But we each displayed our excitement in our own way. My enthusiasm had a bit of a Mr. Burns quality, as it often does.

This is what we saw when we got off the van. We almost fell over. Can you guess where we went?

THE FIRE STATION!!!!

The firefighters showed us all kinds of neat things and even dressed up in their Halloween costumes. They also let us touch their masks! Do field trips get any better than this? Uh, no. We don't think so.

science is fun

As part of our parents' ongoing quest to nurture our abundant geek genes, we spent part of last Saturday at the Sci-Tech Hands-On Museum. Considering they brought a tornado machine, a giant "piano" and an awe-inspiring, human-swallowing bubble-maker into the deal, their plan seems to be working...

our first homework

Zak and I completed our first-ever homework assignment last night. Woo-hoo! We each had to pick one of our favorite toys and put it in these pillowcases for guess-what-I-brought show-and-tell at school. The decision process was painstaking and involved many rounds: this truck or that truck, this airplane or that one...you get the idea. Mom and Dad coached us on how to give hints about the toy without naming it. See if you can guess what we chose.

Zak's hints: they're grey, they fly in the sky and go mmmmmm, they have wheels, they have wings
Wyn's hints: it's green, very tiny, and it has four wheels

And here we are this morning on our way to school. Of course, as soon as we walked in the door we announced to all within earshot our "secret" toys: two airplanes and a small green car. Aside from that little gaffe, our first show-and-tell sessions went off brilliantly.

three amigos

We had so much fun with Sam a couple of Saturdays ago, we decided to invite him back for another go-around last weekend. Good thing the three of us fit perfectly in the back seat of the blue car.

We also fit perfectly inside this tree outside the Art Institute. Next stop...you guessed it...the Art Institute!

Three kids, two pads of paper. Two lefties, one righty. Somehow we made it work.

Pose like a statue! Or a robot. Same difference.

After lunch we headed over to the Bean for a final pose-off. It was a three-way tie, naturally. Although Sam got bonus points for prop utilization.
