giving thanks

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday in KC. Although as soon as we got to Grandma "Grandma Bready" Betty and Grandpa Paul's house on Wednesday, we had to go right back outside. The weather was unbelievable!

We also literally swung from a tree because we were so happy to see our cousin Madi and her mommy, our Aunt MooSow.

Besides hanging out with family and eating lots of yummy food (Turkey! Pie! MomTacos! Jack Stack!), Daddy's goal for the weekend was to get us a couple of Chiefs hats. We're happy to report that he succeeded on all accounts.

Hey, we're always up for presents. So when we were told Thanksgiving would double as Christmas this year, we dug right in. Here Great Aunt Linda helps Zak open one of many awesome gifts, while Madi and I show Daddy how it's done.

Zak wasted no time trying out his new Buzz Lightyear cup. New Orange Cat Puppet wanted a drink too, but my brother wasn't about to share.

Not only did we have an unprecedentedly spectacular Thanksgiving/Christmas combo on Thursday, we had a second unprecedentedly spectacular Thanksgiving/Christmas on Friday at Grandpa Launnie and Grandma Pat's house. That's unprecedented spectacularness times two times two!

After dinner Grandpa showed us how to ride in the back of a pick-up truck. We couldn't have enjoyed this more, even if the truck was actually moving.

What do you mean it's almost time to go back home? Can't you see Madi's teaching us how to be concert pianists!?

Zak enjoyed a final few moments with Grandma Betty and Madi before we hit the road again. We had so much fun, no surprise there, and we're so thankful for our time with all of our KC family and our early Christmas gifts. We hope to see everyone again very soon. Love, love, love to you all!

grandma grandma grandma

Guess who came to visit this weekend? Here's a hint: she's the slightly taller person in this picture.

Here's another hint: she flew in from the mountains of North Carolina. Wynston here looks like he may have figured it out...have you?

It's...Grandma Lipsey!! Yippee! We've missed her so much, and we were so glad to see her. Thanksgiving literally came early for us this year. We spent the weekend hanging out, eating delicious food, playing and generally having a wonderful time.

In addition to her many other talents, Grandma is a great reader. It's not easy to capture the attention of three little kids, you know.

Thanks for coming to visit Grandma! We can't wait for Christmas now. Love, Zak & Wyn

snooze news

Wyn and I have been in our new beds for about a week and a half now. As you can see, Wyn is just thrilled with this development. I was a bit more apprehensive, but I've settled in quite nicely now. Good night, sleep tight!

no tricks, just treats

Zak and I really got into the spirit of Halloween this year. We completed our first ever jack-o-lanterns (minus the lanterns) and concluded that when you add Mr. Potato Head parts to orange produce, you get "big sweet potatoes."

Here we are walking to our Playschool Halloween party and checking the perimeter for signs of smoke or flame. We absolutely loved our firefighter outfits. Thanks Grandma Lipsey!

Guess which one is me.

On Halloween night, we donned our costumes once again and took a walk down the street with Daddy.

Dude. You mean if we go around to people's houses with a pumpkin bucket, they give us presents? Why aren't we doing this every night? Did we do this last year? And by the way, what are M&Ms?

Later, under the watchful eyes of our pumpkins/sweet potatoes, I discovered that handing out candy is even more fun than getting it.

Just when we thought the evening couldn't get any better, Cousin Sam came over. That's when we established the Shining Armor/Sootfighter Cleaning Service, which was in business for approximately four minutes.

Thanks again to Aunt Katherine for all the Halloween cards and toys. They really made the holiday special for us!
