what my trucks see first thing in the morning

bed heads

Unlike many 2-year-olds, Zak and I appreciate the value of gettin' in some good Z's. Especially after a long day of running, jumping, dancing, hopping, climbing, skipping, scrambling and various other action verbs. Here I am sleeping in my absolute favorite position. I like to keep my stable of motorized vehicles lined up and ready so I can start playing the moment I open my eyes.

We've also discovered the thrill of hanging out in Mom and Dad's bed, which until recently was completely off limits to us. Let me tell you, they were keeping something from us there. Here's Zak, demonstrating how we love to pull the covers up to our chins, stick our heads partway under the mountain of pillows and whisper, "Asleep." Then we do our fake snore, which is worthy of a Daytime Emmy at the very least.

a night out on the town

Friday night Wyn and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Winberie's Restaurant with four of our favorite big-people friends: Daddy, Dahlia, Pam and Mom (not pictured). The best part of the evening, besides the sparkling conversation and two new green stretchy jelly frogs with lights in their heads (that's one of them next to my plate), was the ICE CREAM TREAT! at the end of the meal. Mmmmm...ICE CREAM TREAT!

father's weekend

We started celebrating Father's Day a few hours early this year by taking Dad to Kiddieland on Saturday. He really enjoyed himself on the rides and didn't get scared at all. Here we are on a carousel that was built in 1925. Does that make it older than Daddy? We can't do math yet.

Next we rode the train. Hands inside the car at all times, Daddy.

Later on we gave Mom and Dad a break and rode some rides by ourselves, including these extremely fast racecars. Vroom, vroom!

Happy Father's Day to Daddy, as well as Grandpa Lipsey, Grandpa Launnie and Grandpa Paul. We love you all!

cuteness in the third dimension

This hand-holding cuteness thing might be getting, well...a little out of hand. Cousin Sam came over this morning and helped us walk to playschool. As a result, we have officially entered another dimension of adorable.

more irresistible adorableness

Last weekend was dudes-only here at the Lipsey house, as Mom was off cavorting with her friends Dahlia and Pam at Pammy's lake house in Michigan. There was, quite naturally, lots of burping and wrestling and other testosterone-y behavior among Daddy, Zak and me. However, Zak and I managed to keep in touch with our softer side at an outdoor concert on Sunday by walking around holding hands. Daddy says we drew more attention than the band on stage. What else, we wondered, can two brothers do to be this incredibly, irresistibly, unspeakably adorable?

The answer arrived on Tuesday: wear dinosaur crowns that have little pieces of wallpaper glued to them! (?) Big props to our two very creative playschool teachers for helping us out on that one.

trip to target, redux

So we went to Target this weekend, which made us reminisce about our very first trip to Target, just over two years ago.

Ah, good times. Good times.

(I'm on the right.)

home improvements

Here I am doing a jig celebrating the long-awaited eradication of the gross grey cabinets and dark green, purple, teal, orange and red walls in our kitchen and stairwell. Wheeeee!

Wyn and I are equally excited about our new porch swing, which is much more roomy and tush-friendly than the previous version. Seriously. We're excited about it. Can't you tell?
