the wonder of being 23

Today marks the beginning of the end. The end of saying how old we are in months. Exactly one month from now, we'll be 2 years old! Two months from now, still 2. Seven months from now, okay, 2 1/2. To commemorate this watershed moment in our lives, Mom took us to Wonder Works Children's Museum, where Zak spent 15 minutes pushing some buttons while I climbed on a chair. You know, stuff we would never get to do if we had stayed home.

Later we stuck some fake fruit into some holes. That doesn't sound like much as I'm typing it out here, but let me tell you, it was spectacular. Hooray for a fun activity on a cold winter day. And hooray for being 23!

the many sides of sharing

Check out our spiffy new cube chairs. Aren't they great? In addition to the colors you see here, we have a blue one and a red one. That means Zak and I each have two chairs, right? Wrong. In an unfortunate yet cosmically inevitable coincidence, we both like the red one best. This has caused some problems, as each chair only seats one at a time. Sometimes sharing stinks.

Since Mom and Dad have been all hot on getting us to share our chairs, Mommy decided to demonstrate the concept at dinner by letting us help ourselves to her chocolate shake. Sometimes sharing rocks! Not such a great thing for our laundry in this instance, but that really isn't our concern now is it?

Later on, after Mom re-upped her supply of Spray 'n' Wash, she shared a hug with Zak. Then Daddy cuddled with us both at the same time. Now that's the best kind of sharing there is!

51 degrees and sunny

Wyn and I were so excited about getting to spend some time outside today that we gave each other a big ol' kiss and a hug.

Ahem, how about those Bears?

Actually, we spent most of our backyard break in this position. We weren't pondering Alito's impending confirmation. Or the Dow. Or even Mr. Blackwell's recently released Worst-Dressed List. No, we were staring at this:

Which recently looked like this:

Weird!!

hats off

Being a twin comes with all kinds of fringe benefits. For example, you can read what your hat says even when you can't see your own forehead.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Lipsey for the neat caps! We will wear them proudly.

boys and their toys

Just when you thought we couldn't become any more fascinated by the alphabet...

We find ourselves strangely drawn to this toy. Could our family history of farming be calling us home?

There's only one thing more fun than playing in our new firehouse tent: knocking it over and pushing it around the room!
