aunts in the dirt

Zak and I got to hang out last weekend with our Aunt Katherine, who flew in from North Carolina. On Saturday we got together with Aunt Marjorie, Uncle Stephan and Cousin Sam for a trip to the Field Museum. We all thought it was pretty interesting, especially the giant dirt exhibit. Yes, I said giant dirt exhibit. Anyway, it was so fascinating that Zak literally passed out from the excitement. Sam and I dared not fall asleep even for a second, as we had to protect our family from the giant elephant invasion.

Later, Katherine and I shared a special moment at the Veterans Memorial Water Wall at Soldier Field. I don't know what Katherine was thinking about right then, but I was thinking how much we will all miss her. *sigh* We love you Aunt Katherine!

a conversation between 6-month-olds

Zak: Can you believe it!?! Today's our six-month birthday!!!
Wyn: And your point would be...
Zak: Think about it. If you add up our ages, that's one whole year.
Wyn: Hmmmm...you're right. That is pretty huge.
Zak: So let's smile for the camera.
Wyn: OK. On my count, say cheese.
Zak: But we're lactose intolerant!
Wyn: Humor me.
Zak: OK.
Wyn: Ready? 1...2...8...

Both: CHEESE!

twins who spin

Witness the "Lipsey Twin Spin" with Bonus Sock Removal. While Wyn served as control subject for these unretouched, time-lapse photographs, I pushed myself around in a full circle in less than two minutes! (Notice how Mom uses her water cup as bait. I can't explain why, but that's one fascinating beverage container.)

chew toy art

We love our chew toys. And Mom loves to tinker with Photoshop. Thus, this post was born.

visitors from nash vegas

Tonight we met this cool couple named Chad and Carrie. Zak had me convinced that they would talk all funny because they're from Nashville, but they sounded alright to me. Anyway, here you see Carrie demonstrating the patented feeding-two-Lipseys- at-the-same-time maneuver while Chad pauses to ponder just how far spit-up can travel. If you look closely, you can see the fear in his eyes. Lucky for Chad, Zak ruled him out as a possible target.

infant olympics

In honor of tonight's opening ceremonies for the Summer Olympics, Wyn and I decided we should go ahead and participate in a few events. Unfortunately, Dad wouldn't let us fly to Greece. So, we just had them right here in our room. Events included, clockwise from top left, Synchronized Mugging for the Camera, Picking Up Various Things and Chewing On Them (Men's Individual), Fly Weight Greco-Roman Wrasslin' and Freestyle Tug of War - Plastic Ring Division. Wyn and I tied for the Gold in all events except Picking Up Various Things and Chewing On Them. To be honest, Mom disqualified me from that particular game after I spit up all over the equipment. I'm so ashamed!

babies who lunch

Zak and I took a break from our hectic play schedule to attend a very important lunch meeting today. The agenda included saying hello to our friends Dahlia and Pam, getting held and flirting (this is fast becoming one of our core competencies). Afterward we took a tour of this place called Frankel to see where Mom worked before we hired her. We met lots of nice people there, then we headed on back to our headquarters for our standing afternoon nap appointment.

family entertainment

This was quite a weekend for out-of-town visitors, with four friendly faces coming to see us all at one time, driving all the way in from Missouri! To commemorate this momentous occasion, we ate lunch Saturday at the Walnut Room. Our guests enjoyed quiche, crab cakes, yummy salads and "the best iced tea ever." Wyn and I chose to stick with milk. Clockwise from left, we have Wyn, Great Aunt Linda, Grandma Betty, Second Cousin Jenni, me and Great Aunt Vicki.

Wyn and I also made an important discovery: we like college women. We practiced our flirting skills a bunch with Jenni, as I demonstrate for the camera here.

For a bunch of girls, these guys were pretty cool to hang out with. All in all, it was a great weekend and we were sorry to see everyone go. Wyn blew lots of "mad raspberries" after everyone left. The only thing that consoled him (and me) was the idea that we'll see everyone again at Thanksgiving. Unless they want to come again next weekend?

family business

So you've come here today to ask us a favor. I'm inclined to grant you that which you request. My brother, on the other hand, he is less ... empathetic to your situation. You should know, however, that if we offer you our help, someday we may ask you a favor in return. That day may never come. But should it, you will not turn us away, no matter how distasteful what we require may seem.
