dreamy

I've decided that sleeping on my tummy is the most comfortable position ever. Mom and Dad put me down on my back to sleep, and -- bla-da-lump -- I roll right over onto my belly. And I stay that way for 11 or 12 hours every night! My brother Zak still likes to sleep on his side. Amateur.

one + one = five

Wyn and I turned five months old yesterday. Whew! We are really getting up there. As part of our weekend-long celebration extravaganza, Mom and Dad took us to Michigan Avenue for the first time. We both enjoyed it very much, although Wyn wasn't a big fan of the crowded sidewalks and loud cars. I myself took it all in stride. Of course, we both enjoyed all the attention. Everyone wanted to know if we're twins. Duh, people! (P.S. I'm on the left.)

the case of the missing tooth

CHICAGO, Illinois -- The apparent disappearance of a tooth belonging to local resident Zakary Lipsey, nearly 5 months old, has caused much confusion and consternation among the child's family. According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the alleged tooth surfaced last weekend and was spotted by Stephanie Lipsey, Zak's mother and first-time parent. Mrs. Lipsey then alerted the boy's father, Jim Lipsey, who promptly got out the camera and photographed the small white bump for the boy's web blog (see related story below). Later, Mrs. Lipsey was unable to relocate the "tooth" and initiated a massive mouth-wide search. After several days without success, the bewildered woman conceded defeat. Neither Mr. nor Mrs. Lipsey were available for comment at press time, but Zak's twin brother Wynston Lipsey, pictured above, issued the following statement on their behalf: "Oops."

it's a tooth, bud

For the past few days, my sunny disposition and sparkling personality have been clouded by bouts of spontaneous crying combustion. Daddy thought I might be teething, and darn it all if he wasn't right. I've sprouted a ... canine? And as you can see, I'm not exactly thrilled about Mom poking around trying to find it. Hey, just because I like to put my hands in my mouth doesn't mean I want anyone else's in there. Nevertheless, I'm excited about the prospect of doing something fun with this new tooth, like gnawing on the dog. Love, Zak

a nice visit

Today, Zak and I got to meet our Great Aunt Sharrie and Uncle Fred, who were able to stop by while heading home to Kansas City. As you can see, they held us a lot, so we hit it off great. Sadly, they had to get back on the road. We miss you already, Aunt Sharrie and Uncle Fred. Come again soon!

little lords of the dance

It looks like we're just lying here, completely still. But no! Our feet are kicking like crazy.

a peek behind the scenes

Some of you may be wondering how Zak and I do these blog entries, as our arms aren't really long enough to reach the keyboard (not to mention the fact that my brother is one of those hunt-and-peck typists). Well, I have to admit, we get a little help from our parents. We let them know exactly what we want to say, then they do the actual grunt work. Sometimes, however, Zak and I are forced to take over the whole operation. Like today. I had to art direct this photo myself, as Dad wasn't quite tracking with my instructions. Anyway, that's how we do it. Enjoy!

o brother, there art thou!

For months, Wyn and I kept our brotherly love to ourselves. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy for us to act all aloof and disinterested in each other all the time. But now we've decided to let the cat out of the bag. We're constantly smiling and laughing at one another (of course, we also smile and laugh at the ceiling fan, so who knows). We've even had a few prolonged and rather boisterous conversations. Mom managed to capture one in this photo...although Wyn made me promise not to reveal what we were talking about. Let me just say, I had the last word.

miles o' smiles

Life is good. Our days are filled with so many exciting things. We eat, burp, play, babble, read books, hang out and sleep. Oh, and speaking of sleep, Zak and I snoozed for 10 hours straight Saturday night! That sure made Mom and Dad smile...can't imagine why.

happy birthday grandma

Today is our Grandma Betty's birthday. We sure do wish we could be with her on this special day. But alas, she lives in Kansas City and we don't have our driver's licenses yet. Zak's pretty upset about it, as you can see. He's just lying there in the background pouting. Anyway, we hope she has a great day and gets lots of toys! (P.S. Zak was on the left yesterday.)
