daddy's proudest moment

Yesterday, without warning, Wynston drew the square root symbol you see here. Mom, being the slightly less mathematically-inclined parent in the house, thought it was the symbol for long division* and IM'ed Dad straightaway to alert him to his younger son's impromptu flash of mathematical brilliance.** Pop's response: "Wow. I was hoping to teach him logarithms before division. This isn't the traditional sequence, but it is more logical. Oh well. Learning through discovery is best, anyway." Uh, okay. And as far as the creepy monkey-like thing hovering over the square root sign goes, well, draw your own conclusions.

*It is similar, in her defense. And she's been working late every night for two weeks. And we're now getting up every morning at 7. So she's really, really sleep deprived. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, she was not wearing her glasses at the time.
** The fact that it was actually the symbol for square root, and not long division, does not diminish the level of mathematical brilliance demonstrated by my brother.

Wyn is no doubt a genius - as is his brother.

Dad - also genius- is walking on thin ice. When Mom is sleep deprived, one does NOT critique her blog entries.
