aunts in the dirt

Zak and I got to hang out last weekend with our Aunt Katherine, who flew in from North Carolina. On Saturday we got together with Aunt Marjorie, Uncle Stephan and Cousin Sam for a trip to the Field Museum. We all thought it was pretty interesting, especially the giant dirt exhibit. Yes, I said giant dirt exhibit. Anyway, it was so fascinating that Zak literally passed out from the excitement. Sam and I dared not fall asleep even for a second, as we had to protect our family from the giant elephant invasion.

Later, Katherine and I shared a special moment at the Veterans Memorial Water Wall at Soldier Field. I don't know what Katherine was thinking about right then, but I was thinking how much we will all miss her. *sigh* We love you Aunt Katherine!
